After thirty years of being together, Chela and Chiquita’s financial hardships lead to their separation when Chiquita is convicted of fraud and imprisoned thereafter. As Chela reassembles her life without Chiquita, she meets the considerably younger and sensual Angy. This newfound relationship marks the beginning of a significant spiritual transformation for Chela, as she ventures out of obscurity and adopts a fresh outlook on life.

Winner of two Silver Bears from the Berlin Film Festival and the Transylvania Trophy, Martinessi’s debut feature film has been celebrated for it’s nuanced screenplay, social commentary and pitch perfect performance by Brun. This intimate depiction of one middle-aged woman’s reawakening proves that it is never too late to start over.
